Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton escaped the struggles that shaped her life at an early age thanks to her inventive and innovative imagination. Before she learned to read and write she was making up her own music. She got her first guitar when she was just 8 years old and started singing at a Knoxville Tenn radio station at age 11. In the same year, she recorded her first recording on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. Although she was in school, she had already established herself within the local arena. Her goal was to to perform at a much larger size. The year 1964 was the day that followed her graduation from high school her family moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde was her first album to be charted for the first time on Monument Records. Porter Wagoner had been looking for female performers to join his syndicated show at this point. Parton was hired in 1967 and signed by RCA Records by 1968, and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry. The show was cancelled by Wagoner, however, in 1974 due to her albums on her own like Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene beat out their collaborative albums. Parton was a part of the group that split after the end of their collaboration with Wagoner she wrote the song I Will Always Love You and made it to Number. This was the first time a single hit the top spot.
